Bet London To A Brick On It

Australian radio personality Ken Howard had a favorite saying about horse racing. It was, "You could bet London to a brick on it."

Ken had an incredible eye for seeing which horse crossed the finishing line first. When the judges called for a photo to decide, Ken would tell his radio audience which horse was home first. And he would back up his claim by saying, "You could bet London to a brick on it."

The photo always proved that Ken was always right.

London to a brick... what does it mean? In horse racing terms it means that one person could bet a brick and another could bet the whole city of London. If someone who bet the brick won, they would win all of London.

Imagine that. You bet an overhead piece of clay, and you win all the buildings in the great and beautiful city of London.

Illustration of Eternity

Betting London to a brick is a good illustration about eternal life.

This life here on earth is what decides whether we live forever.

Of course, compared to eternity, our life now is extremely short. But we bet something short (our life here), and we can win something very big (life that lasts forever).

Our life on earth is like a brick. The life in eternity is like the beautiful city of London. For our investment of a "brick," we can win "London."

It is totally mad if we do not bet our "brick," our short life on earth now, and miss out on winning eternal life.

Bible passages like Revelation chapters 21 and 22 give a hint on how good eternal life will be. In fact, it is going to be fanastic. You could be London to a brick on that!

Don't miss out. These odds will never be offered again.
