Melchor Ferreyra, president of the church in Peru, cites the commitment of pastors to evangelism as one of the key factors in the increase. "Integrated evangelism in Peru is a reality," he says, referring to a plan adopted by the church in Peru that encourages every Adventist administrator, pastor, department, institution, and church to play a part in evangelism.
Ministerial director Barito Lazo says the current focus is now on major
urban areas in Peru, where the goal is to establish a permanent
Adventist presence in each of these centers. Bible instructors are
currently working in Peru's cities, setting up small Bible study groups
in preparation for an upcoming evangelistic series.
